Cloud+Mobility+Big Data

Faisal Ghadially

The cloud implies different things to different stakeholders. To IT, cloud is a cost saving paradigm. To business, it opens up new business models and introduces flexibility into existing business processes.

From an end-user perspective, the cloud is an INSIDE-OUT model with the cloud platform serving as an extension of in-house capacity, especially in the areas of big data and peak computing needs. For the mobile user, the cloud presents and OUTSIDE-IN model, where the phone/tablest connected to the cloud is the front office, and occasional syncs with the in-house systems are required.

All of this is explained in lucid detail in Andy Mullholland’s (Capgemini’s CTO) POV, as well as in his vblog. I would strongly recommend reading this content.
